Lana began exploring yoga in Long Beach, California as a way to relieve stress from the busy work/school life balance. As she pursued her career in Early Childhood Education, and worked full time at a private school, she found a true calling to incorporate the many benefits of yoga into her Pre-K classroom. Mindfulness breathing techniques, visualization, and a fun, playful, yoga sequence was something that Lana incorporated everyday in her class. Her students requested yoga, slept better at night, and found joy in the movements.

After moving back to her hometown Portland in 2008, Lana wanted to continue to expand in her journey as a student, and teacher of yoga. She became certified with Street Yoga and Imagination Yoga as she continued to bring yoga to disadvantaged youth around the Portland area. Lana wanted to expand her teaching expertise and gain the knowledge necessary to teach a wider age range. She began studying with Jen Whinnen at Three Sisters Yoga and obtained her Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification in the spring of 2015.

With a passion for vinyasa, restorative, and kid’s yoga, Lana brings her love for teaching and caring for others to each class. She focuses on mindfulness, breath work, and leading students on a path to trust their own internal teacher.

Outside of the studio you can find Lana hiking the Gorge, biking in town, running races, salsa dancing, and enjoying her family and longtime friends!
