Your Yoga Alliance Recognized 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training School starts this coming September 2017 at the Yoga OMazing studio.

We're located in the greater Portland, Oregon metro area just off Highway 26 in Tanasbourne.

Whether you are inspired to teach or just want to immerse yourself into the vast yoga universe, a 200-hour teacher training program opens up many paths to explore.

Upon successful completion of your training, you will qualify to become a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance.

Come and meet our teacher training staff and enjoy an evening with hors d’oeuvres and beverages. A good time to ask questions about the upcoming program. Open House starts at 5 pm.

Teacher Training Curriculum

History of Yoga

You will discover and study works from the many historical periods of yoga including the Yogic scriptures of the Bhagavad-Gita, Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga along with BKS Iyengar’s influence on yoga in the Western world.

Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle & Ethics

Accepting yoga more deeply into your life, you'll study the yamas, niyamas and the other limbs of Patanjali's Eight Limbs of Yoga. You'll open your awareness for overall ethics in the classroom and teacher/student relationships within the yoga community.

The Asanas

Learn to effectively teach yoga poses through an understanding of proper alignment and a combination of physical and verbal cues.

The Pranayama

Explore the many pranayama techniques that make "the breath" a foundational element of our yoga practice.

The Chakras, Meditation and Chanting

Expand your yoga world studying the significance of the 7 chakras, meditation and chanting.

Anatomy & Physiology

The observation and understanding of the human body will be explored.

Teaching Methodology

Explore the art of sequencing yoga classes to safely guide students through their practice and apply what you have learned by practice teaching a yoga class.

Business of Yoga

For those looking to enter the world of teaching, we'll discuss ways to make yourself known as an RYT and discuss what studio owners might be looking for through the hiring process.

Teacher Training Class Dates

Fridays 8 pm to 10 pm

Class will meet these Fridays: October 13, November 17 and January 19

Saturdays 12 noon to 8 pm

All Saturdays from September 16 through January 27 (except no classes October 28, November 25, December 16, 23 and 30 and January 6)

Sundays 12 noon to 3 pm

All Sundays from September 17 through January 28 (except no classes on October 29, November 26, December 17, 24 and 31 and January 7 (some Sundays have extra hours as noted below)

Sundays 12 noon to 8 pm

Class will meet these Sundays: October 1, November 5, December 3 and January 21

Graduation Day

Wining, dining and celebrating your accomplishments the evening of January 28, 2018

200-Hour Tuition Costs and Pre-Requisites

Tuition Cost

$2900 (monthly payment plans are available at an additional $250; final payments are due September 10, 2017) Save $100 if full deposit is made by 8/14/17

1-year of recent yoga practice experience strongly recommended
